ABOUT US

At INO-Biodiesel we see ourselves as a pioneering force for positive change in South Africa’s renewable energy sector.

Our bio-diesel solutions transform every-day waste into sustainable fuel options that meet the highest SABS and OEM fleet services – providing a viable alternative to traditional carbon-producing fuels.

Started in 2021 by young entrepreneur Mahlatse Mamaila, INO-Biodiesel has been born out of a spirit of possibility: combining the latest technology, international best practice and quality standards to create a range of locally produced bio-fuels.

Our vision for the future extends
beyond sustainable green energy production…

We are committed to the SDGs of economic empowerment, environmental stewardship and climate resilience – while fostering job creation, financial inclusion and sustainable development across South Africa’s rural and urban landscapes.

Our Impact

Our impact to date tells the story of value-adding partnerships and what is possible when communities come together for good.

Sustainable energy for a low-carbon future

We convert waste cooking oil into high-quality biodiesel, reducing carbon emissions while addressing waste management challenges.

Our innovative approach not only contributes to South Africa’s renewable energy targets but also supports global efforts to mitigate climate change. Best of all, we work with communities to make this possible, specifically targeting amagwinya-sellers at taxi ranks. Partnering with these ladies, we’re able to positively impact their businesses; food health and safety, and create new revenue streams for them.

On average, we support 325 of these small businesses per month, across Limpopo, Gauteng, North-West and KwaZulu-Natal investing a collective R500 000 per month in these SMMEs.

INO-Biodiesel is a catalyst for inclusive economic growth.

We prioritise employing women and youth, with the goal of having 90% female leadership in executive and production roles by 2030.

We have already trained 40 young people in green fuel manufacturing, equipping them with skills to thrive in the renewable energy sector.

Through strategic partnerships with mining companies and community trusts, we integrate sustainable solutions into industrial operations, ensuring that economic development benefits local communities.

Our initiatives include:

  1. Collecting and repurposing used cooking oil from local businesses.
  2. Water research projects to improve community access to clean water.
  3. STEM education programs to grow next generation environmental leaders.
